Biggest Thrift Store Jewelry Cabinet Makeover Yet!

Y'all know I love searching for old jewelry cabinets at thrift stores, garage sales, flea markets, and antique shops. And I buy a lot! Some of them need a little more than just painting. I found this large jewelry cabinet in a local thrift store a couple of summers ago. It’s the biggest one I’ve ever found! It had a few problems but really just needed a little TLC.
Here's what it looked like BEFORE I did any work on it.
One of the handles was completely missing and the hinges on the ring drawer were broken.
I searched but couldn’t find a matching handle. So I decided to just fill in all the holes with Minwax Stainable Wood Filler then replace them with some of the glass handles I’ve been collecting. Hubby came to my rescue and fixed the hinges for me while I painted. I gave it one good coat of CeCe Caldwell’s natural chalk and mineral paint in Seattle Mist.
When the paint dried I wet distressed it, let it dry again, and covered it with Minwax Polycrylic. I’m still liking that better than the wax. Here’s the finished product. Have to say, I LOVED the mismatched knobs. I usually replace the glass but this had some really nice beveled glass in it so I kept it.
