The jewellery box has had a transformation DIY French Style -
from that unkind green colour to duck egg blue sweetness.
from that unkind green colour to duck egg blue sweetness.
The first step in this DIY was top remove the old wooden knobs and sand back the wood.
I bought some new knobs that were a slightly smaller size, in a lovely burnished silver.
The jewellry box was then painted using Annie Sloan chalk paint in the Duck Egg colour. The box and drawers were waxed - except the top as this is being decoupaged.
I found such a pretty decoupage paper with sweet birds on it. The top of the box was measured and a piece of this paper mod podged in place. Then a layer of mod podge was put on top to seal it.
I'm loving this transformation. The jewellery box is so pretty now.
