If you don't have a dedicated playroom, this small space toy storage solution might work for you! It includes ideas on how to incorporate toys into a child's room, how to make DIY labels, and ideas to separate toys into like categories.

First, get a toy storage piece that works. Toy boxes don't always work since everything gets thrown into the bottom and kids have to dump everything to find what they're looking for. (see blog post for recommendations!)

After I found the perfect pieces, I sorted and organized the kids' toys. In the post I give ideas for categorizing toys (read the comments for some ideas for boys' toys!)

Next, I made labels using google image search and pickmonkey. SO easy!

Then I put the toys away, explained the new "system" to the kids and enjoyed knowing that every toy now had a place!

I love it! So creative and functional :)
I usually store my kids' toys in boxed storage cubes made out of fabric (IKEA has long-lasting ones) that sit in one corner of my living room. Also, some outgrown ones I store in my sofa that has a storage. I recently found great solution for labeling boxes and nontransparent bags, a Rhino 6000 label maker that saved my life. Its highly practical for finding stuff, especially the tiniest bits and bobs such as LEGO parts. My warmest recommendation!
