Embellishing Things You Already Have.

This older doily someone put on a ring got a new life as an earring holder. With some upgrades of course!
My bathroom is red and black and white. I was tired of my earring laying in a bowl so I put two and two together. I crocheted a chain of red and black crochet thread using a G hook.
I then wrapped it around the outer edge of the ring, gluing every so often. Once it's between the connection points of the doily, there aren't many places for it to go but one likes to be sure.
Then I made a flower in all black to put on one of the points.

With an F hook, chain 6 and join. Chain 10 and slip stitch into the next chain for 6 loops around. In each loop, make a single crochet, a half double and 8 doubles. Then a chain 2 and revers the pattern to the end of the loop. Repeat for all 6 and break off, tying the tails in the back.
In the same direction, lay one petal over the next and so forth, then glue to the doily. Glue a pretty gem to the center.
Hang it up and hang your earrings from the doily or the chain wrapping.

N-JOY!!
