Jewelry Box Makeover (For A New Purpose)

3 Materials
Easy
I found this lovely little jewelry box...
As you can see it needed a little TLC, a little love, and some updating. It had several scratches and wear showing on it.
But structurally, it was great. And I liked the detail of the little drawers. I decided to freshen it up by painting it white. I'm a sucker for white furniture and accessories...it makes it look so clean and fresh.
I also decided to give it a new purpose, other than a jewelry box! It is now a place to set keys and change in the entry way (rather than the big dump drawer in the dresser below).
The drawers were already lined in yellow, and the felt fabric was still in excellent shape, so I left it. I actually really like the look of the yellow with the white front. It brings a little more color and charm.
These little drawers (one is actually larger and just looks like two drawers) are the perfect spot to catch those little things that you like to get to all the time.

And if (when) I decide to re-decorate the front entryway; I can make this cute jewelry box back into a jewelry box.
