I absolutely love neck ties...especially vintage ones. I came up with this inexpensive wall art using ties from the thrift store (and some from my own collection ) and, a broom handle . Unique, kind of retro, and definitely cool!
First gather your materials : i used an old broom handle, black spray paint, paper clips, two curtain rod accents, two Command hooks (for hanging ) and the ties..I used 14 for this one.
Paint the broom handle or a dowel rod in your desired color and allow to dry.
Gather the ties and decide what order you'd like them to be hung. Loop the ties around the rod and secure with a clip of some type (paper clips or cloths pins) I found these really cool paper clips in the shape of bow ties at Marshalls.
Attach the curtain rod accents if you'd like, place the command hooks on the wall and hang ! There you go. ..neck tie wall art!
For Christmas you can change out the ties for Christmas themed ones! I also do this for Halloween. You can usually find themed ties at the dollar store. I think this would be great for a kids room too using cartoon themed ties and painting the rod in bright colors.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this idea!

Thank you, everyone for your comments. I'm kind of new to this and this was my first post. How exciting it is to see my idea on Hometalk and receiving feedback!
