If there is room for twin beds, put them up against the wall on different walls. Maybe in an "L" shape with a corner table in the corner with a lamp on it.
Futons, day bed with trundle, Murphy bed, air mattresses. I would go with a day bed as it will take up less space during non sleeping hours.
They're old enough to house themselves? Or ask them their opinion?
I would do double sized bunk beds if you have room. But when buying bunk beds for adults, make sure to double check the weight limits. Also with bunk beds, there are some with ladders built in and some that stick out, so make sure there is room for that as well. I would also get one that has drawers underneath the bed for some storage. Going to a few furniture stores might give you a few ideas. Take the measurements that you have to work with. Shop on line too, but keep an eye on weight limits when shopping. Good luck.
if there is room, a trundle bed may be the answer. If there is already a bed in there, you can buy only a trundle that will fit under it. Just a matter if there is enough room to roll out.
Hope it works for you. That way gives more floor space for two adult sons....

Shhh! That's where I got the idea. Always thought it worked well.
