I have a very small closet and I am looking for easy ideas to store folded clothes and shoes (flipflops, sneakers, and boots). Any ideas?

I purchased a hanging linen storage organizer for my small coat closet by my entrance, you can buy shoe size up to sweater size. I store gloves, hats, outdoor shoes and more in them. I've used the larger one in my small linen closet to hold sheet sets, table cloths and napkins. They work great!

Storage cubes, soft ones, you can turn them on their side and stack clothes, etc. inside. They will lean together. I found some at Target.

You can find the bags that you vacuum down to make the items inside as small as possible, they usually fit really good under your bed or dresser. You could move seasonal clothes out of your closet and into these bags, that would create some room!

How about looking into 'Under the bed' pull out drawers, Ikea may have just what you are looking for or giving you good ideas…If you donot have Ikea's catalog try the Web.

I got command hooks to hand shoe racks on the back wall of our small closet. Also used hooks to hang clip hangers holding our boots. We got plastic drawers for our folded clothes that stacked on one side of our closet. Then did a hanging second bar for the other side to hang dresses and shirts. We hung stuff pretty much every where: Behind the hung clothes, on the front walls next to the door, On the door, on the outside of the door. We even put hooks on the ceiling. We put off season clothes in vacuumed bags and tubs under the bed and sofas. We stored some closet items in the restroom, like our night clothes, towels, etc. we stored bed linens (flattened out and in a trash bag) under the mattress. Also used hanging shoe racks (the clear pockets) hanging from a hanger, for shirts, shorts, socks, undies, small toys, hair accessories, toiletries, etc. they hold a lot for very little space.

If possible, add another shelf above the top one. Some times there is space there that never gets used or stacked too high. I like the cubes idea too.
