How do I create more storage for a closet?

I have a old closet that only has one door. I rent so I can't cut the side of the closet out to put in double doors. What suggestions do you have for me

    Hello Patricia,

Over door hanger - Storage boxes - Use Drinks Tin Tabs over your coat hangers to give another hook..........

Hi Patricia. Have you spoken with your landlord and explained the situation? Since he/she doesn't live there, he may not be aware of the hard to use closet. Let him know another door would make the space more useable, and valuable to you. Offer to hire a professional to install it or if he has someone he uses specifically. Usually, if it costs the owner nothing and adds value, they'll say yes. If the answer is no, then I would alter a bookshelf that fits into the space with casters on the bottom, a hanging bar after removing a few shelves, and a handle on the side so you can easily pull it out for access. 😊

Hi, I agree with Karen, ask permission to change to a bi-fold door, it will make it easier to get into the closet. Add book shelving to add more storage within
