Hi Janice, here are a couple of ideas. You can wrap rubber bands around the ends of the hangers to help them grip, someone suggested covering the ends/ top edge of the hanger with hot glue and when it dries it provides a grippy surface or try wrapping the hanger with pipe cleaners. A wonderful solution I use to keep coats and good clothing from getting that end of the hanger shoulder bump is to get a pool noodle and cut it to slightly over the length of the hanger so it will droop over the end a little. Then cut one side the length of the noodle to form a slit that will fit over the little top of the hanger. Poke a hole in the center of the opposite side to slip the hook through that holds the hanger on the rod. This is great because it is grippy and my good coats, sweaters and clothes have smooth shoulders. Or you can sew a piece of lace seam binding, or other thin material, into the shoulder seams forming a loop long enough to hook over the hanger hook. You see these in many formals with wide collars or off the shoulder designs. Good luck, hope one of these works for you.
