Brooke is a Dixie Belle Retailer in Northern California, at Heartland Vintage Market! She is showing us how to create these beautiful hand painted jewelry boxes.

First start off by cleaning with White Lighting Cleaner, great for cleaning and de-greasing! The only prep to the jewelry box is cleaning.
Check the thrift shop or garage sale. She is using a color from Dixie Belle called Fluff, the slightest off white. You can seal with wax or clear coat, but something like this you don’t even need to use a top coat!
Dixie Belle has several products to embellish your projects, including Dixie Dirt, Glazes, Waxes, Metallic, and Stains!
She used the Dixie Belle Brush in Small, and the Blue Sponge. The second jewelry box Brooke used the color Vintage Duck Egg (picture above)! Jewelry boxes make great gifts for any lady, Mom, Daughter, Best Friend, Sister!
The third color she used is Manatee Gray with the Blue Sponge, it is great for smooth surfaces using a sponge eliminates brush strokes!
Second coat Brooke dips the brush into water and then paint, it makes the paint go on more easily, faster, and you will use less paint! You can add water directly to your paint, and some people even like to use a spray bottle of water.
Brooke applied the Clear Wax with the Chip Brush! Very lightly applying for Dixie Dirt to stick to, not too much wax to make sure to smooth it so it’s not chunky! After applying the wax, you can brush on some Dixie Dirt, after brushing on she swipes the excess and rub it in for a beautiful distressed look!
Gilding Wax in Bronze can be applied with your finger, she applied it directly on the hardware of the Jewelry box painted with Vintage Duck Egg! Wet distress by simply dipping your rag in water and rubbing the corners!
