Carpet.
Just your preference. I'd like hard floors throughout the house, but my husband doesn't!
I love wood flooring. My preference is to have wood flooring with area rugs. Creates a rich look that wall to wall carpeting does not.
Having had both many times, I would personally choose flooring with area or bed side rugs only.
I have bedside rugs on hardwood floor.
Carpet, or you'll be vacuuming every day. The dust shows more.
