Can you wallpaper vertical blinds, and, if so, have you done it?

I recently repainted the master bedroom ultra white, because of an eyesight issue my husband has. Now it looks like one big white box. I thought it would be fun to add some color and interest by wallpapering the vertical blinds. Have you done it. Did it work? Do you have any tips to share? Thanks!

  • Sounds like a great idea! I have not done it myself, but I bet it can be done. Some vertical blinds have "channels" where you just slide your desired fabric or paper in, then it would just be a matter of cutting, sliding in and punching a hole at the top where it clicks in on the rail. I have some like that and if you want some photos, I will take them and post for you.

Honestly ,I think replacing the blinds would be an easier way out. Wallpapering in the long run will be a terrible cleaning issue.

    Contact paper.

take a vertical blind , measure contact paper for length then lay the vertical blind closest to you-stick and flip .

My vertical blinds are plastic...so if yours are plastic, I think you could paint them......I took off the valance and intend to glue narrow 3\4 inch colored ribbon on the header to give them some color.

Thanks for the comments. I guess I should have added 2 caveats: I hate curtains, and I am trying not to replace the blinds, although I am not a fan of them, either.
