Help! Wrestling Theme Boy's Room...Ideas please!

Jamie
by Jamie
Hi, I could use some ideas on decor for a WWE/Wrestling themed little boy's room. Basically I'm working with a comforter and sheet set, posters, 2 championship belts, and his collection of wrestlers and rings to go on shelving. I'm struggling with everything from paint color to decor ideas. I've searched the internet over and there's next to nothing as far as merchandize or ideas. It's so important to me that his room be something he loves, but I need to be budget conscious as well. I would greatly appreciate any ideas or input!

Lots of photos here. Click on a photo and go to the site. A combination of ideas from different rooms would work great.

Hey Jamie, I would paint on the walls to make it like you're inside the wrestling ring. Paint the ropes and the corner turnbuckles. Maybe give him a large WWE painted on one wall.

You could make his room look like the inside of the wrestling ring. Paint the ropes on the walls and have posters hanging around the room of his favorite wrestlers. The light fixture could be a hanging microphone like the announcers use before the matches. You can make the posts for the corners of the ring out of PVC pipe and paint it. You can put a pool noodle inside the PVC pipe and add lamp fixture with the cord going down the center of the pool noodle for a unique lighting feature. AND a wrestlers room would not be complete without a folding metal chair in the room. Good luck.

I would choose the colors of smackdown with that bedspread, and paint the wall blue and then do the logo on top... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBZvTZb475o

The floors are lovely--don't touch them. I wish you had given your son's age, but my suggestions are for a boy age eight who will use this decor for four years. First, I would pick up a couple of shades of blue out of the comforter. Use one shade to paint the headboard wall only, because you don't want his room to look like a cave. Use the other shade of blue for sheers, lamp shade, and a couple of cushions. I love the black headboard, table, and lamp. A black or blue wicker chair with a cushion and a couple of black short stools or a black short bench would be plenty of seating. The stools or bench would go with a wrestling arena theme. Along the white walls, I would tack up three or four strands of black cord to represent the ropes of the wrestling ring. You might have to dye the cord, or you could braid thick yarn to make a cord. You could also cut this out of black Contact paper or sheet vinyl, but that could cost a bit. In all four corners, make a simple brass post out of shiny or painted paper. Leave simple or embellish as you wish. Everything that I have suggested so far could easily be converted to a new theme. The blue wall could be there until he is grown. One more thing I would suggest is doing something with the closet door and bedroom door. The closet door I would either paint black, or staple on taut black fabric. This would be a good place to display the big belts, tacked or stapled at each end. It might also encourage him to keep the closet door closed so that the belts would be on display. On the bedroom door, which is probable white, I would use duct or other plastic tape to make a window square for a ticket booth. Vertical stripes make the bars, for instance. I can't wait to read others' suggestions, and I'd love to see how it turns out. Best wishes 😇

Great ideas here. If using posters, I would skip the bedspread and go for a Solid color from the posters On the bed. Otherwise it may get too busy and you do want him to sleep in there. Plus if he tires of the theme, you don't lose the money you spent on bedding. Love the idea of the ropes stenciled on the walls to make it look like The inside of the wrestling ring.
