I rent so can’t do any construction.

  • What have you got to work with in the closet? Any shelves?

Is this a walk-in closet ? If it is, just hang a pole for tops, and underneath, hang another pole for pants. Use the floor for shoes and boots. Next, buy a material or plastic to slide your pocketbooks in. It hangs by a hanger hook.

Not a walk in closet. There is only about 4 inches on one side of the hanger to the wall. It’s narrow, and I could barely get a bin inside for storage. I had to remove the door to get it in. The long clothing bar is supporting in the center with a wire from the ceiling. this wire also gets in the way of trying to fit things in. i Don’t need more space for clothing. I just wish I can imagine a way to make it functional. I’ve added a hanging cloth shoe holder at the entrance end for scarves, belts and other items. The single shelf is also narrow. I would ideally love a large slid door that is so popular these days but no construnction.

I have one long narrow shelf above the clothes bar. I’ve added a couple of planks at the far end depthwise so that I can put large bins on top of. Really the far end that isn’t accessible has bins and old clothes.

Maybe a number of tall carts on wheels /casters that are connected to each other like a train, could be rolled in and out ....Good luck

How about a sliding particion. When opened, it doesn't take up much room. You can also purchase a pair of doors, which I can't think of the name. You stand in front of them, put your hand on both knobs, and slide the right knob to the right, and the left knob to the left. Sorry but the name escapes me. They run on tracks. I'm sure your landlord wouldn't mind this type of door, it's an upgrade. Check with them if this is ok, but get it in writing. You make the letter up, it should be short. Bring it to them, and ask to sign it. If you could send a picture of the closet, this might be a better way to help you.
