A new paint color, different curtains and bedspread, and different things on the walls would be a nice makeover without the use of
power tools. There are some different paint techniques you can do on walls to add a design or use removeable stickers. My daughter painted gray walls and then used removeable silver circles to add a bit of interest. Check out Hometalk and Pinterest for some good ideas!
Hi Carla! Paint requires the least amount of tools. Wallpaper is also minimal. Are you changing any of the physical structure? That's pretty hard to do without some real tools.
Paint makes a huge impact if you are trying to update a room. Wallpaper is also a hot trend these days. There is even a wallpaper that resembles shiplap.

You can always paint the room and change the bedding and area rug. Change out the decorations and possibly paint the furniture. This will give you a new look.
