I would find a pretty quilt for the bed with lots of pillows.
Warm colors, cozy bedding. A basket for reading materials, etc. A bedside lamp for reading, a clock, empty space to unpack. A place to sit a suitcase if you have room. Extra blankets and pillows. A nightlight that can be shut off.
You can cozy it up with soft furnishings such as a down comforter and pillows. Provide a nice bedside table with a lamp for bedtime reading and a nice textured throw and extra pillows. Maybe an upholstered chair if you have the room for it. Some pleasant artwork and a nice green plant will add to the coziness. It's fun to have something unexpected, so you might consider painting or gluing decorative paper to the sides of the long dresser you have in the room. When you have a guest arriving, fill a basket with some info about events happening in your area and maybe some fresh flowers. Your guest will feel very special.
I love a great bedding set with a nice comforter, sheets, shams.... even matching/coordinating drapes and pillows. A nice lamp. And some art work on the walls. One of my go to sites is https://www.brylanehome.com/Home-Comforters-and-Sets.aspx?DeptId=20590 and they are having a 50% off sale
These are good ideas. You might add a small bottle of lotion, personal soap or a pretty room scent.
