These are four panel folding, clothes closet, doors. wooden and plain. They need paint and pizzazz...something, or I will just not hang them back up...sorry, no photo but, I think you know what I mean.

Which room do they go in? In my first home I painted a copy of a Degas ballerina class on some folding doors such as you describe (original Degas painting follows). If you don't think you are artistic you can use wall stickers or decoupage (using things that fit the decor of the room, steam punk- a huge clock or a map, country- hello giant rooster! or an old sign, modern- paint a huge image like the advertising opening of Mad Men (I'm actually going to paint Don Draper sitting on the sofa silhouette on a wooden headboard, easy to do with a projector to, Think of them as a great big canvas!

There are soooo many ideas that flooded my mind for these doors. Here are a few of them. You can wallpaper them, paint them one color or add some geometric designs with contrasting or complimentary colors. Make squares with thin moulding and paint everything. Attach full, light weight mirrors or smaller 12" x 12" mirrors on the two middle ones and frame them with decorative moulding. Attach light weight ceiling medallions to all 4 and put door knobs on the middle ones. Decorate with contact paper or washi tape, decoupage with fabric or paper napkins. If they are the hollow ones you could add dimension by making a few small recessed shelves ( 6" x 6" ) on each door. Frame it out with furring strips and paint them a contrasting color. You could even attach a picture to the back of each one.

Decoupage is another way to go. You can decoupage photos that you love, or bring nature in by decoupaging leaves or small flowers of different colors. Got a poem that you just love decoupage it on one of the doors., You can also turn a couple of them into a message center with some blackboard paint. Hope I helped.

You could ditch the doors and put up a curtain rod. Find a couple pretty fabric shower curtains and hang them using decorative curtain rings. This will add texture, color and softness to your room.
