Assuming you are keeping the carpeting, go find some bedspreads & draperies you love, and use them to pull accent colors for pillows, or flowers, or whatever for your room. Not so many bedspreads and draperies to pick from, but you can get any color paint if you want to change that. Good luck!

Thank you so much. We actually just painted the bedroom. It has a grey tone to it. Now we just want to know what bedspread color to get to help decorate the room. The the Furniture on the opposite side is cherry wood (I can’t change that aspect). Any ideas on colors for bedding would be greatly appreciated!

With the neutral walls and lamps a contrasting color seems necessary. If this is for a female only audience a rosey shade might be nice. For a coed room an aqua or teal would look nice. Adding a throw in gray would tie the walls in. Using patterned sheets that coordinate w the bedding for curtains would be an easy finish if none are available

The bright yellow looks very good with grey, in the bedspread you have. Add some large shams either white or gray, and then smaller bright yellow pillows? Check it against the cherry and see what you think. If you are replacing the bedspread, shades of purple can be good with grey too. Keep all the receipts and return the items you find don't quite work.

I would do floor length since it would draw the eye up and give an illusion of a head board. U could run the curtain rod thru the thick hem of the sheet for the casing if u don't sew.

Thank you so much Eileen! One thing I left off is the other side of the window ends of the second bed Which is up against the wall of the right side of room. So there is no place to hang a long curtain on the right side of the window.

      Any thoughts?

If your not sure what color/style you like or have.. try visiting furniture stores like Ikea.. take your time and browse through the many vignettes they have... concentrate on those that make you feel happiest and pay attention to what those areas look like... what is the main color in the area, what type of accessories are on the wall... what type of fabrics and accessories.. you can even take notes! Then go home and see how you can copy what you love!

Here’s a comforter set on a budget from Walmart ( purchase for both beds) that matches with your grey wall with a pop of color. I would place one chest taller between the beds and check offer up and thrift stores and spray paint it. Add two medal wall rod iron grills for head boards that can be purchased at hobby lobby or kirklands. Here’s a few visual ideas to complete the look📌

    Eilee,

    Thank you for the ide.

I forgot to mention that while the left side of the window hangs pst the bed the right side of the window hangs over our second bed on the right but ends in the middle of the bed. If we were to hang long treatments on both sides, the curtain would hang over the middle of the bed and in someone’s face.

    what are your thoughts?

I'm a bit confused. Do u mean the window is centered on the wall but the twin bed is against the wall so a curtain would end in the middle of the twin bed? If this is what u mean, you can hang the curtain past the window edges to cover the entire wall. Just set up the rod touching the walls rather than at the window edge.

You could also use decorative window film, it comes in stained glass, and many other finishes. I used the green leaves on my bedroom transom window.... its like looking out into the trees.... https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dgarden&field-keywords=decorative+window+film+leaves

Make some matching headboards would be a cheap way to tie the two beds visually together. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=how+to+make+an+upholstered+headboard

Bedding with plum in it might look nice, and silver tone window treatment. Macy's often has some great sales on bedding sets, check their website. Also, a cafe rod across the top of window with a swath of fabric draped on it is another option.

If you are not sure what colors you prefer, or if the occupants can't agree on the color choice for matching spreads, plain white down comforters to match your trim is always a good choice. You could then use decorative pillow covers or accent pillows which are easily changed out and far less expensive than the spreads to add color if you want. At a later date when you have a better idea of the colors you love, you can buy duvet covers and put your white down comforters inside them.

A fresh coat of paint can transform a room. I’ve seen some great bedders on clearance. Add aN inexpensive head and a bed skirt to make the bed look expensive. I love those night stands, but I’d update the lampshades

Thank you so much for all the ideas! What lamp shade cover should I change it to? Please post a pic of the idea! Thanks!
