Spare Room to Garden Room

by Aydeet
Turned a spare room into a garden room. Now, during the cold, snowy winters, I can enjoy the brightness of this room filled with silk and real plants and flowers. Most of all, the swing will provide a wonderful place for reading, working in my art pad, meditation, listening to music, etc. Plans include adding more cat friendly plants/flowers, a mini-garden and a terrarium. This is a work in progress. Hope it inspires ideas for you.
This is the entrance to my garden room.
Just added my handwritten, painted-on entry sign. Le Jardin, French for "The Garden."
Here is the mural that I finished drawing and painting. It is 6 ft. by 5 ft. I used sample sized containers of latex paint and to make it a bit more dimensional, window knobs/hinges were added, along with silk flowers and butterflies on the large cup vase. This took awhile, but I guess art is my thing. ;)
Love my storage bench. I can sit there to "look" out the "window." ;) My adirondack chair with a colorful cushion was also added.
My favorite decor....a swing! Also, colorful baskets were placed on a small, old, wooden step-ladder.
Had fun putting up mini shelves to support various garden decorations.

Love the swing inside, now you can swing in the winter. I have a mirror about that size think I will paint open doors on it to reflect the room and will put a few plants in front, love the illusion idea.
