My daughter asked if I could makeover her bedroom to give it a more mature feel and I used the opportunity to also implement a lot of new storage and organizational ideas! Follow along below to see how we completely changed her space.
Tween Girl Bedroom Makeover
Here is one view of her bedroom before the full makeover. Beautiful, but no longer her style. Pink, flowers everywhere and not much for storage. She was over it.
First thing we did was remove her old flower peel and stick wallpaper and replace it with a more neutral peel and stick wallpaper from Wunder Wall Mural. This only took a couple hours and made such a huge change in the over all look of the room.
We also hung a new round mirror and replaced her 5 drawer dresser with an 8 drawer dresser for more storage. Keep scrolling for after photo of the space!
I used paint from Sherwin Williams in the color Resound Rose to paint an arch for the wall where her headboard is and made a beautiful DIY wall hanging. That tutorial has been saved separately.
We also added Chic White Bedding from Beddys and a 2 cubby storage piece as a side table with some wicker baskets for more storage!
On the opposite wall I decided to give her a usable desk space with even more storage. We used two Ikea drawers systems and a butcher block countertop cut to size as a desk to give her maximum workspace. I also decided to color block the back wall with the same Resounding Rose as we used behind the bed.
I also added two floating shelves and some bins along with decor for...you guessed it, more storage! She loves her new room and Im so happy that all of her things finally have a place, In fact, she has so much storage now that many of her drawers are empty!A finished desk space with lots of storage!
Side table with storage baskets also!
