How do I put a pocket door in my bathroom wall?

The wall which separates my tub from the vanity has the faucet and showerhead pipes in it. I was wondering if any one has installed a pocket door which would enter that double wall to be in the open position... I'm just trying to be able to close the tub/toilet area off from the vanity and linen closet area.

  • I have one in mine but it is in the wall dividing the bedroom and bathroom. I would need a photo to see what you have to work with to see if it would be possible.

Hi Granny, if there is stuff like pipes in there a pocket door won't work for you, but you could get away with a barn style door and it would be easier to install

I wanted a pocket door for my bathroom but realized that would involve moving a lot of electrical stuff. A barn door is much more feasible for us and sounds like you to. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Thanks everyone. I can't put a barn door style in that place. And from what I can tell, a pocket door isn't an option either. I just don't like seeing the toilet as soon as I enter my bathroom. 😥
