How do I build a cat door in a screen?
I have sliding glass doors and screen and a cat that won't stay outside unless the screen is open enough for her to get in. How can I make a cat door in the screen or is there something I can hang in the opening?

I'd keep my cat inside. It's safer.
Have you tried the magnetic pet doors. The cat wears a special collar which opens the door and closes once the cat is inside.
Hi Becky, perhaps something like this will work - PetSafe Freedom Aluminum Dog and Cat Door (on Amazon)
Hello Becky.
You have to cut the screen with a craft knife (the sides and bottom) of the flap.
Then firm up the sides and bottom by adding fabric or tape or stitching around with wool. Don't want to harm kitty!! It should then be able to flap in or out as required.
Hope that has helped.

Hello again Becky,
You don't cut the top of the screen, so the catflap can be rolled up when in use/or not. The cat will be able to see through it. If you add a tape/fabric around the sides and bottom the cat will be able to push through it! If not use command strip or velcro to hold it up!. Best wishes..........
You could make a one foot wide door at the bottom with a door and make the top solid then you would put it in the door and he could go through the bottom anytime in the door.
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen retrofit kits for this. Search Amazon or online.
Thanks to everyone who responded
Make her a catio and bring her in when she is ready or create and entrance high up so nothing can get in and out except her, that would by-pass the door.
