Dual Fire Pit Garden Feature and Outdoor Project
Today I will be sharing our outdoor duel Fire Pit and Garden feature that was made from what some people would call junk…all the wood was advertised on Craig's list for free and while the portable fire pit was not being used due to the melted wheels was also considered "junk"
After much thought it was decided that we could actually make our faux garden fire pit into a functioning real fire pit and still be able to enjoy it as a garden feature when not in use.
The portable fire pit was purchased a long time ago from Target, it had two back (melted) wheels and a metal support that was removed leaving the bottom tray. After digging a hole using the bottom tray as a template to determine the size of hole that needed to be dug out. Once the hole was dug the bottom tray was placed down into the hole leaving only the rim exposed, sides were filled in with dirt. The screen was added back to the bottom portion of the tray and the lid was placed upside down for the garden feature.
Once this was in place the wood was placed around the screen, some pieces extending above the screen to camouflage and hide the pots that hold Celosia Look of Eternal Flames. The flowers were left in containers and placed down onto the lid, for easy removal along with the pieces of wood that can be removed when we want to use it as a real fire pit.
The pieces of wood were actually torched to look like it is actually burning wood, and river rocks were placed around the logs. One other thing that was added were solar lights that are placed down into the middle of the flowers to light up at night for a glowing effect
To complete this area with seating, some logs were cut into stools and ropes were added to the sides
