Mini Firepit

Make your evenings beautiful with this super simple firepit idea using a bowl and some rocks.

For this project, I headed down to my local dollar Tree. I started by grabbing some nice glass beads. These are perfect for what I want.
I also headed over and got some rubbing alcohol. Again, really cheap to buy.
Next, I grabbed this bowl from Home Depot for only $11. It has a cork in the bottom, so you're going to want to make sure you plug it up if your bowl has one.
To fill it, I'm going to grab some sand and start putting it in the bottom of the bowl.When it comes to the sand, you want to make sure you get either some nice good beach sand or anything without many rocks. Sand is as a great insulator.
Fill the bowl up just enough to where you can add a smaller bowl and the top of it will be level with the top of the larger bowl. When you add the smaller bowl to the middle, give it a nice push. Again, you want it level with the top.
Now add a metal bowl and this is where the flame is going to go. Make sure that fits into the other bowl. Also.
Once we get that in, let's go ahead and start putting some more sand in and give it a little shake to level it out. That's going to give this bowl a little bit of a base so that it stays in place. You may want to do this outside since the sand can be a bit messy.
Go ahead and put the metal bowl in and then lay the glass beads all over the top of the sand. Don't worry, they're not going to sink in there or anything. All you have to do is just lay them on the sand.
Once you have it all filled, take it outside and fill the metal bowl with the rubbing alcohol. Don't pour it all in just about a third of the way.
Give it a little bit of a flame and it's going to light right up. You can make the flame smaller if you get a more narrow bowl. If you need to put the flame out, you're just going to put a metal lid on top and that will extinguish the fire. The flame will last a couple of hours though while the rubbing alcohol burns up.
This easy firepit is great for just relaxing outside. Just remember to always be safe if you have kids or pets around.
