A client of mine was in the need for a classic bedroom vanity. He didn't know exactly what he was looking for, so after a bit of conversation with him, I came up with a sketch in my mind. Take a look at the vanity I built for him!

I started with building the frame, here I places the sides, top, and the bottom all together.

Next, I added a 100 x 20 (mm) pine lumber with milled edges at the bottom to serve as the base. I milled some stripes on the sides and added some decorative carved square pieces to the top corners. And then I added a long one right below the lip of the counter top.

Next was time to install the drawers. I used soft close hardware for this. (At this point I realized the counter top was too thin, so I swapped it out for thicker option- 40 mm)

After this, I started to create the shape for the mirror frame, the two drawers on the bottom and the sides.

Then I added 120 x 20 pine lumber for the frame. I started milling some stripes on the sides. Then I put the 2 small carved square pieces on the top of the stripes and a lovely and intricate piece on the top center.

I felt like the drawers were begging for some extra detail, so I added some milled slats on the border of the drawer fronts.

Then I painted the whole thing a nice cream matte and installed the mirror. The last touch of detail was the classic hardware.

And here it is this gorgeous Classic Style Vanity, I really love this one !!!

Beautiful, but did you say $1250.00? The client must be thrilled....

This is a beautiful piece, but perhaps due to the painted finish, it looks rather feminine to me. For a man, I would have left off the carved embellishment in the center of the top and stained it. Also, making it out of pine rather than a hardwood, it will dent very easily. All that work, and it will be dinged up in no time.

I think that they are probably going for an antique look which would be suitable for anyone. Beautiful job!!! I love it!!!
