So I needed an ottoman ASAP and made one super quick and easy. Link:

That was great for a fast fix, but there were problems with it. It‘s Legs were wiggly, the base felt thin, and the fabric felt too loose.

So, I decided to up my game and fix up this original piece to turn into a permanent fixure. First, I pulled out all the screws and staples across the whole piece. Then, I cut a piece of second plywood to match the same size as the first.

Wood glue between the pieces with clamps while it dried. Then, every six to eight inches, screw between the two levels. Then, staple the foam, batting, and fabric layers back into place. But....seriously....pull tighter than a Jane Fonda facelift! Tight tight tight!!!!!
I measured the legs to come in 5“ by 5” on each side. That way, it missed all the fabric and could get screwed tight into the wood. As I screwed the legs into the wood, I pushed them all right together so there were no gaps.
Finally, nice and tight! A permanent piece!
Even my husband (my greatest critique) was like, “this is nice! Really cozy!” Give it a try. It’s easy, cheap and satisfying.
