DIY Entryway Bench

One space in my home that needs a little love is our entryway! We certainly don’t have a nice big entryway in our current house, but we do have a cute little space to keep some essentials. I looked for a bench at a bunch of different stores, but couldn’t find one that I loved that was in the budget! So I decided I would try to make my own! I’ve always wanted to try to build some furniture. Although I’ve done plenty of crafts over the years and I’m very comfortable with an electric drill, I really don’t have a lot of experience with woodworking or building furniture. Nonetheless, I’m so thrilled with how this little guy turned out! Not bad at all for my first attempt at furniture building!!

I really like your bench project. I think it makes your home look more furnished. It is important to have lots of fun furniture in the house. http://irentfurnishedhomes.com/furnishedhomes/Welcome_to_Lexington_Kentucky.html

This is really cute, great first attempt at furniture building. If I might make a small suggestion, for safety only, Please think about running two, one might not be enough, boards the same as your legs along the floor between the legs for support and stability. I think if you don't it might collapse sideways. You could paint them white or stain them grey either would look good. Another thought, if you used a wide board, it could hold shoes or a basket for "stuff". On second thought it wouldn't hurt to run one or two under the seat, the same way. Sorry, just call me "worrier grandma". :)
