DIY Garden Bench With Tree
The excessively warm weather forces us to seek shaded areas. That's why you should use this weather to build a special garden bench in your cool workshop, which combines practicality, nature and function. If you want to recreate this bench, you don't need excessive manual skills. With little material and effort, you can conjure up your own individual bench, which you can build larger or smaller accordingly. Not only is it a beautiful element in your garden, it also fits perfectly on balconies or terraces
First you get a suitable board - we chose a smooth-edged board measuring 2500 x 400 x 28 mm. Then the ends of the board are first rounded off and the planting holes are sawn out.
Using a simple strip of wood and a pencil, the curve was applied to the board.
Mark the cut-out for the planter, drill a puncture hole and saw into the bench from below with a jigsaw.
The upper edge of the board and the curves of the planning holes are rounded off with a half-circle cutter (Dm 16mm).
Place the planter upside down on the underside of the board, mark the diameter and screw on small wooden strips on the inside to prevent them from slipping.
Now paint the finished bench on all sides with weatherproof glaze.
Place the bench on the planters and plant plants or two small trees as desired. Pebbles, granules or bark mulch can be used to cover the soil, depending on taste.

This is such a simple idea but it is so useful. I had some scrap lumber so I built this in an afternoon and put flowers in the end. My wife loves it. Thank you.

I think flowers is a better choice than a tree or woody shrub that won’t fit through that hole. I like the idea, don’t misunderstand…but benches that are not permanent need moving from time to time.

Yes, you are right. In the meantime I have replaced the trees with flowers. I like it that way too.
