DIY King Bed Frame

Did you happen to see the DIY woven headboard tutorial? Now it’s time to build a bed frame from scratch!

Under bed storage was a must with this bedroom refresh, so I used my box springs as a guide.

Using select pine, all it needed was a light sanding

With the weight of the heavy king mattress, the legs needed to be strongly supported. To avoid having screws on the outside, I reinforced the frame with brackets. Another option would be to use a kreg and do pocket holes.

We then attached brace pieces for the support slats to be attached too.

We attached the center beams with T brackets for extra strength.

We also used heavy duty T brackets to attach the bed frame to the headboard.

The center beams were then reinforced with extra leg supports for more support in the middle.

It was then stained with the same wipes as the headboard. As well as support slats added and screwed into place.

I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out!
