DIY Wood Coffee Table

We have been busy remodelling the former play equipment from the garden into a bench seating focussed around a fire pit and coffee table.

The table is designed to sit over the fire pit and lift off when we fancy a fire and roasting marshmallows.

The coffee table uses the fence panels from the top of the climbing frame. But first to make the base of the table. You will need

Eight pieces 2’ long 1 3/4” square

Four pieces 18” long by 2 3/4 and 2”(these are the legs)

Use two cross pieces to join two legs. Pre drill the holes then add screws, to form two sides of the table.

Join the two sides together with your remaining side pieces. It is helpful to have an extra pair of hands to help hold in place as you screw it together.

Cut ten pieces 29 1/2 by 2 3/4 by 3/4”’

Place evenly across the top of the table, using a sunken drill piece screw the top in place.

Finally add teak oil liberally to protect your outside coffee table.

The coffee table sits perfectly over the fire pit and is light weight so I can easily lift it off.
