Get Party Ready With a DIY Bar

Nothing excites me more then seeing freebies online especially when I'm feeling inspired and ready to start a new project

You'd be surprised what people throw out but I knew what I was looking for and finding it wasn't difficult

There's so many selling sites e.g.(gumtree, Ebay, spock) I went straight onto it and Googled free pallets it wasn't long before I came across 100s of ads I found what I needed then arranged my collection.

Sizing up

I was inspired at a recents friends party who had a home made bar I wanted to try it myself

Once I had my pallets home I went straight to it, measuring and cutting the pallets to create the L shape Bar I had in mind

The frame

Here I achieved the size and shape, now I needed a bar top. There was a few trials & errors I wanted a thick top with a rustic feel look I didn't want to settle for any less

My parents had some scaffolding boards in their Garden along with old decking boards I bought them home cutting them to size and placing them on the frame to see what looked best.

Bar top

I cut and placed the scaffolding board to the frame and screwed it down then sanded it all over.

Wood stain

Using left over woodstain I coated the wood which brought out the grains giving it a lovely finish

Staining the wood

I painted the frame white, stained the woodtop then added some decor from the dollar store

Two leaf trellis and a rose fairy light garland from the range

Garden bar

The end results

I hope I've showed you how easy and affordable it is to create your very own home bar

Party bar

The bar was a huge success
