Industrial Table From Vintage Door

Do ya’ll do craft projects? In the house? On the kitchen table?
Yea. Me too.
Not the best place to craft sometimes. Although my kitchen table can tell stories.
About green glitter glue pictures.
And orange “Vote for me” signs.
And red icing from gingerbread houses.
But I wanted a place that I could craft, be in the main living space with hubby and the TV and not have to clear off when was it was dinner time.
I ended up buying this door at an auction. If you want to read the story about that day, you can find it here: http://www.lessonsfromthelake.com/a-new-craft-table-and-the-tale-of-the-goldilocks-door/

Hubby and I liked the industrial look of using black iron pipe for the legs
We literally sat in the floor in Lowe's and laid out the pieces we would need to build it.

I will warn you that the pipes are filthy! Lots of Dawn and scrubbing later, here is the finished product:
I love the spool handle and the lock that you can still see. I will probably get a piece of glass cut to lay across the top for a more smooth work surface, but I am using it like it is for now.

Love the look…and keeping good things out of the landfill. Just an idea: instead of putting glass on top, fill the door with two part Epoxy to smooth it out. Indestructible!.
