I designed and made this multi-purpose table for cutting out sewing projects, folding laundry, storing laundry sorting baskets, hiding the recycle bin and laundry drying racks. Absolutely Love It!icon
The Beginning
Materials I used in making my table that I attached to a small existing storage cabinet that I already had. Your measurements will differ depending on the size that you want.
1 - 8'x 18" x 3/4" Pine Board (cut into 2 - 4' pcs)
4 - 34" x 12" x 3/4" Pine Boards
4 - 2x4s 32" long
Paint, wood strips, hooks, fabric, small adjustable curtain rod and staples.

Ready to move into the house.
Used wood putty to fill in countersunk screws and sanded entire piece. It is ready to go into the laundry room and be attached to the existing cabinet.
Attach and Paint
Screwed a 1" x 2" pc of wood onto the back of the cabinet. Joined the new table to the cabinet by screwing into the 1" x 2". Filled in screw holes and lightly sanded. Painted the table with the same paint that was used on the cabinet.
Table isn't done but it's already working
Lots of room under the table for storing recycle bin, clothes drying racks, dishpans, detergents, etc.icon
Easy access to recycle bin
Stapled fabric on this open corner to hide recycle bin.
Curtain makes easy access to storage.
Used a small adjustable curtain rod on this side to hang fabric to hide drying racks and addition laundry supplies.
Basket storage.
Add slides for upper baskets to slide in and out on. Added hooks to put hangers on. Used left over wood to make shelf between the 2 inside table panels.
I am in love!!!
