Spring is here so to spend much time outdoors we created our own garden furniture. A few weeks ago you could see how to make the garden sofa and now here is the seat as well. icon icon icon icon

what you need:

  • planks icon

3x 14.5x160x2cm

4x 14.5x140x2cm

  • slatsicon

2x 3x150x3cm

  • drill, screw drivers, screws
  • woodglue & dovels
  • stain
  • safety tools icon

measure and saw

8x 50cm on 160cm planks for the seat and the back then

8x 60cm on 140cm planks for the 2 sides of the chair


then sand the surface of the cutting a bit

mark the space of hidden screws

at 10-20-30-40cm on 6x50cm planks and

at 7.5-22.5-37.5-52.5cm on 6x60cm planks

then drill the holes of hidden screws, here use an undercover jig set

fix the parts together with screws

then hide the holes with the help of dowels, glue them into the holes with woodglue

saw overhanging parts with Japanese saw

on the back part

drill hidden holes in the middle of each planks - 8 holes

saw

2x 50cm slats and

2x 54cm slats for the holding parts

space of 2x 50cm slats

one is fixed on the middle of back part and

the other one is fixed on the front of the seat part

firstly join the two sides for the back

after that fix the seat as well

and the last moment is staining

use exterior stain for maximum durability
