I got this amazing vintage planters tray and decided to turn it into a coffee table by combining it with a pallet and casters I already had on hand! If you can’t find a large tray, you can make this table with a different piece on top, or stack two pallets together to make it taller (and don’t add a topper).

The first thing I did is cut my pallet down to the same width of the tray. Pallets are tough. I used a sawzall and it took me awhile!

I marked where I wanted to cut…

Then got after it! It wasn’t easy but the sawzall was a good tool because it fit in between the pallet boards nicely.

Next, I sanded rough edges.

Then I painted my black casters with a few different colors of paint to give them a vintage look. I’ll share a tutorial on that soon - it involves a plastic bag!

I then marked holes for the hardware (also painted), drilled the holes , and attached the casters.

That’s it! What do you think? Here’s a before photo of the coffee table that came with the patio set…

and an after with the updated coffee table…

I love how it came out! If you decide to make a pallet coffee table, please share in comments below. I’d love to see what you come up with! Thanks for reading this post and be sure to follow me on Instagram and Facebook @jagcagdesign for lots of fun ideas!

Jamey
