Pallet Swing

I've seen quite a few pallet swing projects that use extra wood in addition to the pallet wood; however, this swing only uses the wood from two pallets. I was able to complete most of this project with my Black and Decker home tool kit.

My husband brought these two pallets home from the warehouse where he works.

I decided to make this swing the size of a crib mattress since the mattress is waterproof.

I really wanted that idyllic "picket fence" look. To make the top of the backrest rounded, I used the lid of a can to trace a half circle. Then, I cut the tops of each slat into a rounded shape.

I attached the second pallet to the back of the first, and then I stained them both to make them a richer, darker color.

To hang the swing, I used carabiners and chains. It wasn't difficult, but I did need a helper.

Then I simply covered the mattress with a crib sheet, added a crib skirt for extra pretty, and threw on some pillows! Voila! New beautiful swing ready to enjoy.

There seems to be sides yiu attached but didn’t explain, and also how did yiu attach the back pallet and not have it sag or fall back with weight against it? Love this idea. Have the crib mattress waiting! Thank you
