DIY wooden table: Ideas?

It's unfinished and it's a small side table on wheels. I would love some cool ideas how to decorate ìt using house hold items. I have old scrap yard goods to. I just don't want to put a stain on it. Also I have wooden stool. What is the best glue by the way besides super glue to have a permanent hold?

Do you want to put things on it, like a vase, or do you want to decorate it somehow? I'm thinking decoupage or stenciling might be nice.
Maybe build a little lip edge all around top of stand, get little items that sit flush with created lip edge n then fill with epoxy resin!? For stool, hot glue or staple gun!?
