You have at least 2 options, you could close it in and stack belongings in the room with a trap door, or you could put up book shelves and store things that way, perhaps even in baskets, maybe put a bench to sit on and have storage under the seat also. i.e. You could make it a storage closet or a seating area with the storage. It depends on what you plant to store there.
