How do I make a square table that folds into a triangle?
I'd like to have a card table sized table that folds in half diagonally to make a triangle. This will be used as a side table that can become a game table. How can I do this with a leg or under table extending support?

Hello. Could your table design idea be wall mounted and adapted to your desired shape using a hinge?

IF you take the square table top and cut in in half and hinge it, that should work for the top. You should not need extra support for the side table, because it would have 3 legs. For the fourth leg, I would use a leg that screws into the fourth corner when you need it, and unscrews when you want to fold the table up. Sounds like that would work for you.
Chloe's idea sounds good but the thing is most tables have aprons (the part that supports the top) so in order for the triangle part to be used in the way you asked would mean that either you have to detach the triangle completely and place it on the other part of the triangle (the part that makes the base now) and thus your table would be that much higher (the apron) than it normally is
What you want is a gate leg table. Here are plans for gate leg tables. All you need is adjust the concept.
