Garage & Workbench Makeover
My husband made a workbench for our garage when wen moved in our house in 1965. He made the legs first then simply attached an unfinished door on the top, covered it with some thin metal , and we are still using it today. He also put a half shelf underneath, this left room for small plastic containers to be stack ed underneath the top shelf, (he ended up parking his lawnmower in that space.
I have what was once a buffet in my parents dining room many years ago. My dad built it out of solid walnut. The wood alone is worth a fortune, but it was pretty beat up by the time it arrived at my house as it lived in my brothers garage for some time after they passed. I needed a work bench, it fit in the space I had - so it works. Plus with all the drawers underneath, great place to store tools and stuff. If you want a picture, just let me know, and I can take one in the morning. So keep your eyes open, you may just stumble across something that just might work . . .
The only down side is I have no place for my vice grip - at least not yet . . .
