It looks like the router out for the bottom of the drawer is still in good shape. If you get a piece of plywood the same "depth" and size of the piece that broke, you can pop off the front of the drawer (or the back or one of the sides) and slide the new piece into the groove. Then reattach the side of the drawer you removed.

The only way to restore use is to remove the drawer back and replace the bottom with a piece of plywood of similar thickness. Glue and fasten back as done before.

My first question would be; are you restoring or repairing the drawer? Restoration would require you to carefully take the drawer apart slide the bottom back in and reassemble the drawer. Repairing is another approach. If it were my drawer and I just wanted to repair the drawer to restore functionality...I would take my router and router off the wood under the slot for the drawer bottom. Measure the size of the opening and make the new bottom an 1/8" under in size both ways and reinstall it. Then for added support, I would pin-nail some square stock underneath where I removed the wood initially. Repairing the drawer in this fashion would eliminate pulling the drawer apart and running the risk of cracking, splitting and/or damaging the drawer further in another fashion.

Use Masonite...very inexpensive, lighter weight, smooth finish, and better for this application than plywood.

If it will not have to hold much weight, masonite. I would use small nails to hold it in place, sort of like the back of a picture frame. On the other hand, if you are going to put small items that might slip through, then glue if and just to be sure, also nail it.
