Plank Farmhouse Headboard (Gustavian Style)

Gustavian headboard is such a fancy name for a curvy farmhouse style plank headboard that's so easy to build. It's such an easy project that it only took about 5 hours to build and finish. It can easily be built on a Saturday and finished the same day if you start early and already have your supplies.

Here's the finished project, but below, you can see a bit how we made it.

Mr. DIY used ordinary, stock lumber from Lowe's.

Boards were set on the table to determine where the braces would go on the back.

Braces on the back hold the planks together.

Next, the curvy top was cut with a jigsaw.

You can see a detailed supply list and steps on exactly how we did it, on the website.

Suggested materials:
  • Stock 1 x 6 and 1 x 4 lumber   (Lowe's Home Improvement)
  • Screws   (Lowe's)
  • Paint or stain   (Our stock)
