I wanted a sturdy coffee table for my living room that looked nice enough that it didn’t look like I made it myself. I started with basic wood from Home Depot and cut it into 7 even pieces sized to fit onto a large board that was essentially lacquered plywood.
I sanded them with rough sandpaper, then painted them with wood stain.
I painted two coats of wood stain and lightly sanded between each coat.
Next, I used wood glue and clamps to attach each plank to my wood base.
I let it dry for 24 hours, then screwed each plank into place From the underside.
Then I measured placement for the hairpin legs and screwed them into place.
after that I applied two coats of polyurethane and lightly sanded after each coat. I flipped it over and ta-da!
It came out pretty and shiny!
I love it!
And here it is in its new home! What do you think?
