Plant your own herb garden in a galvanized bucket right outside your front door. It’s the perfect size and convenient too! It doesn’t matter if you have a large yard, or a small balcony, this herb garden works for any living situation. That is one of the many things that makes container gardening so popular.

Before planting your herb garden, be sure to research what herbs can be planted together.

After confirming that these herbs could be planted in the same galvanized bucket, these are the herbs that I chose:

  • thyme
  • parsley
  • basil
  • rosemary
  • sage
  • chives

This galvanized bucket was found at the flea market for $5! With flea market and yard sale season upon us, keep an eye out for galvanized containers if you want to make your own herb garden. It’s also a perfect size to plant vegetables.

Be sure to drill a few drainage holes in the bottom of the bucket and then fill the bucket with fresh soil about 3/4 of the way full.

Fill the bucket about 3/4 of the way full with fresh potting soil. Add your herbs spreading them out so they have enough room to grow.

Be sure to keep your herbs properly watered and fertilized and you should have no problem with fresh herbs all summer long! Enjoy your beautiful herb garden!
