Hi Hometalk! Using just pallet wood, I put together this rustic planter box to be used in the garden. It's easy enough, here is how I did it!
I first broke down 3 wooden pallets using my pallet buster. Then I was able to use the broken apart pallet wood to create the planter. Check out how much I was left with!
The next step is to begin building a frame for the planter. I built a square shape frame at 18 by 18 and nailed my 18 inch boards to the existing frame.
Once all the boards are in place, I can begin adding the top ledge. I added boards to the top at a 45 degree angle. You can also choose to add another layer to create a thicker top ledge.
So here you have a 18 inch tall planter box. You can feel free to stain or paint it or leave it as is! It is now ready to be filled with soil and used in your garden! :)

Looks good John! I really need to get a pallet buster.

Did you line the planter with anything to help protect it from moisture?

What is a pallet buster? I have access to an abundance of pallets but haven't taken advantage of it because I was afraid taking them apart would be too difficult and I'd end up with just a pile of pallets to junk up my yard...😯🙃
