Planting Succulents in Vintage Tea Cups

This thrift store makeover is a little different for me! Nothing got painted today. I started off with these sweet little teacups that I found at my favorite thrift store. And in one of my favorite colors, too!
I started with these pretty little teacups that I found at my favorite thrift shop in Concord. They had a few hairline cracks in them and they did come with saucers that I forgot to take a picture of. The first time I saw them they were priced at $10 for the set. I passed them by. The next week I went on the 75% off day and got all four cups and saucers for $2.50!
I didn't want to drill holes in the bottoms so I added some gravel to the bottom of the cups.
I added a variety of succulents, pressed the dirt down tightly with my hands, and gave them a little water. I'm very careful about how much I water these since there aren't any holes in the bottom. I water them once a week.
They found a happy little home in my kitchen window.
Please come by my blog and let me know what you've planted your succulents in! Thanks for reading!

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
I have cut back leggy succulents to use in my pots. Will they root themselves or do I have to root first before planting?
