I have a space like a window box at top of basement stairs I bought few different cactus to put in planter box any suggestions for anything else

An assortment of succulents would be a beautiful addition. And since they come in many different colors, it could add a pop of color to the basement.
If there's space for vineing, try sweet potato vines or creeping jenny. I added a vineing sedum to my hens and chicks and it added a nice pop of color.
