2 cables in yard holding electric pole. what can I do for this eyesore

Plant a climbing vine like clematis which blooms.
I'm not sure if you could do anything to the actual cables since it is property of the state. However, you could plant flowers around them to try and take away from the eyesore.
You can try vines, if they don't want them there they will let you know.
If you have room, plant bushes in front to hide them. Or, maybe you could put up a trellis panel, then grow clematis or hops or something like virginia creeper on it.
Call the utility company, they might remove them
