Can I cut wide molding without electric miter saw?

I have a miter box but it is too small to cut big molding 45 degree. Do I need to buy an electric machine?

If you just need it for one job, see if you can rent one or borrow a neighbors. If you are handy, you can build a larger one.
An electric miter saw would be the best. Molding must be cut accurately or it won’t look right. If you shop around on eBay, Harbor Freight Tools, etc. you can find base model units for less than $200, and sometimes for less than $100.
